1Who this covers
This policy covers two groups of people. Buyers: the contractors who buy assessments and sign in at firstmoveassessment.com. Candidates: the people a buyer sends an assessment link to. It also covers anyone who simply visits the sales page.
First Move Assessment is operated by The Blue Collar Wave TA First Move Assessment. "We", "us" and "our" mean that operator.
2If you were sent a link
You are reading this because an employer sent you an assessment link. Here is the short version, before the detail.
- The employer who sent the link gave us your name and email address. That is how the link reached you.
- You do not create an account and you do not set a password. The link is the only thing you need.
- There is no clock. Take as long as you like on any question.
- We store your answers and the scores computed from them, attached to the employer's account. The employer receives a report. You do not receive a report from us.
- The link stops working 30 days after it was sent.
- If you need the assessment in a different format, ask the person who sent you the link. It costs nothing to ask.
- Questions about what we hold about you, or a request to delete it, can go to us directly. See section 12.
3What we collect from buyers
| Account | Your name, your company name, your email address, and a hashed form of your password. We never store the password itself. |
|---|---|
| Purchases | Which pack you bought, when, and the receipt. Card details are handled by our payment processor and do not pass through us. |
| Use of the service | The assessments you send, the seats and trades you chose, when each link was sent, opened and completed, and the reports generated for you. |
| Support | Emails you send us, so we can answer them and keep a record of what was agreed. |
| Technical | Server logs with the IP address, browser type and pages requested, kept for security and to keep the service running. |
4What we collect about candidates
| Identity | Name and email address, supplied by the employer who sent the link. |
|---|---|
| The sitting | Every answer given, the order in which items were shown, and the dates and times the link was sent, opened and completed. |
| Computed results | The mode scores, the fit score and band for the seat chosen, the composure readings, and the written report generated from those numbers. |
| Context | The trade and the seat the employer chose, which decide how the scenarios are worded and what the answers are measured against. |
| Technical | Server logs as above. |
We do not ask candidates for, and do not store, anything about health or about any protected characteristic. No item on the assessment asks about any of those things.
5What we do with it
We use this information to run the service and for nothing else: to deliver the assessment link, score the sitting, write the report, show the employer their results, take payment, send the emails the service depends on, answer support requests, keep the service secure, and meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use candidate information for advertising, and we do not use it to build profiles of candidates across employers. A candidate's sitting is attached to the account of the employer who sent that link and to no one else.
6Who else sees it
The employer. The buyer who sent the link sees the candidate's name, email address, status and report. They may share the report inside their own business for hiring and management purposes. What they do with it beyond that is governed by their own obligations as an employer.
Service providers. We use a small number of providers to run the service, each of which processes information only on our instructions: a hosting provider, an email delivery provider, a payment processor for checkout, and an AI provider for the narrative layer described in section 7. We do not share information with anyone else except where the law requires it or to protect the rights and safety of a person.
No other product. Information held by First Move Assessment is used by First Move Assessment. It is not shared with, or combined into, any other product or service.
7The AI layer
The score is not produced by AI. It comes from a fixed arithmetic formula written by people, and it returns the same result for the same answers every time.
An AI model writes the narrative sections of the report from the numbers that formula already computed. It is never given the candidate's name, email address, raw answers, or any account identifier. Every statement it produces must point to the score it comes from, or the system rejects it, and it is barred from stating any hiring recommendation.
8How long we keep it
| An unopened link | Expires 30 days after it is sent. The candidate's name and email address stay on the employer's results list, marked as expired, until the employer deletes the entry. |
|---|---|
| A completed sitting | Kept, with its report, for as long as the employer's account exists or until the employer deletes it. |
| Buyer account and purchases | Kept while the account is open. Purchase records are kept afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires. |
| Server logs | Kept for a limited period for security purposes, then removed. |
9Deleting a result
An employer can delete any result from their account. Deleting permanently erases the candidate's name, email address, answers and scores, and stops any report link that was already open from working. Deletion cannot be undone.
A candidate can ask us to delete their sitting directly. See section 12. We will tell the employer that we did so, because the report will disappear from their account.
10Security
Connections to the service are encrypted. Passwords are stored as hashes. Scoring runs on our servers and never reaches the candidate's browser, which also means the answer key cannot be read from a page. Access to stored information is limited to the people and systems that need it to run the service.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
11Cookies
The signed-in area uses a session cookie to keep you logged in. That is the only cookie the service sets itself. The sales page loads its typefaces from a font service, which may see the request for the font file; it receives nothing else about you from us. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
12Your choices and requests
Buyers can see and change their name, company and email address on the account page, and can delete results from their results list. To close the account, email us.
Candidates can ask us what we hold about their sitting, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct their name or email address, or ask us to delete it. Email us from the address the link was sent to, so we can match the request to the sitting. If a request comes from a different address we will ask for something that ties you to the sitting before we act on it.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under state privacy law. We honor those requests where they apply. We will answer any request within 30 days and will not treat you differently for making one.
13Changes
If we change this policy, the revised version is posted at this address with a new date at the top. If a change materially affects how candidate information is handled, we will tell buyers by email before it takes effect.
